10. Flair Button Storage

I recently redid the way I store my flair buttons.  This method is definitely not going to be everybody’s first choice but it’s perfect for me because I want to see each and every flair button I have so I can choose the perfect one for my project.

I used to store my flair buttons in a binder using floss storage pages but the badges kept falling out and I had to tape them shut using washi tape which was a pain in the you-know-what. However, I have to be able to see my fair buttons, it would drive me absolutely nuts to have to dig through a bowl or other container to find the flair button I want to use so I came up with this:

The first photo I show is the product photo from the manufacturer’s website and the second is a photo I took of my own flair button storage.

I purchased this 3 Ring Case View Binder, 1.5 inch with Metal Rings and it cost me $8.99.  It seals shut when you close it so nothing falls out and you can decorate it in an way you’d like.

Then I bought these page protectors to go inside of it.  They are called the “Coin Collector Refill Pack” and a pack of ten costs $5.99.

When I bought these items I didn’t notice that there are little inserts that go into the page protector like this:

I just thought I’d slide my flair buttons right into the pockets, not realizing there are a few more steps.

So this is how this works.  There are little pockets that separate from the page protector and they look like this:

As you can see from the last photo, a piece of white paper goes in one side and the flair button goes in the other.  Then you take that little “pocket” and slide it in to the page protector.  This way the flair buttons won’t slide out and are secure.  The other thing I like about this storage system besides being able to see everything is that if I am going to a crop or making my own kit, I can just grab the “pockets” that match my project and go without having to take the entire binder.

Here is a short video showing this storage system IRL.

The tedious part of this system is putting them all into the “Pockets” and pages when you first get them but honestly, if you do it while you are sitting watching a video or TV or something, the time goes by really fast.  I, personally, enjoy this type of organization project but I know some people don’t have the time or patience to do something like this so here is a link to a pinterest search on how to store your flair buttons for those of you who want something easier.
