So I’ve been searching for a pattern to make a dust cover for my silhouette cameo and the only one I’ve been able to find costs money…that is, until today! I ran across a post on the Silhouette Plus message forums where a cameo user shared her pattern! Best of all, it’s free! Here are her instructions and the pattern image (click to see her original post)
Silhouette Cameo Pattern Instructions
- Print the pattern below onto a regular 8.5 x 11 piece of paper. Cut two end pieces.
- Cut a piece of fabric 16″ x 23″
- All seams are 5/8″
Printable Pattern
(Right click and choose “View Image”. The image will load full size in another window. Right click on it again and choose “Save As” to save it to your computer. It is scaled and ready to print.)
I’ll show you mine if you show me yours! (lol) Seriously though, I’ve never sewn anything but scrapbook pages and cards, but I’m going to use this pattern to try to make my own and when I do, I’ll share pictures of it with you here on the blog. I’d love to see what you create!
( Again, credit for the pattern is HERE.)

I’m so excited that there is a pattern for a Silhouette Cameo Dust Cover. I found the site you mentioned to get the free pattern, signed up for the site and the links don’t work, so I’m not able to see the pattern. The picture works and that’s it. Can you be of any assistance? Also, when I print out your template, it’s not measuring to size correctly. It could easily be a user (me) error. 🙂 Thanks for your help!

I sent you an email 🙂

Kat,
Can you be of any assistance? When I print out your template, it’s not measuring to size correctly. Is there something else I need to do to get it to print out to the correct size? Thanks for your help!
Diane says
Kitty, just cut pattern as is, Disregard measurements listed. This is the pattern I designed. If you’re lining your cover, you would make two of these and connect them with right sides together, leaving a 2 inch opening to turn them inside out. Then close the small opening. With a material that does not ravel, you don’t need to line. Hope this helps.

Helps a lot. Thanks so much for your help and the pattern. You’re great!

I know this is late, but for anyone having sizing issues, this is a low tech solution, just save the picture, then open it in Paint; tell it to display at 100%, then adjust the size till it measures what you want it to on your monitor. Print and voila. 🙂

Thank you so much for posting the pattern for a Silhouette Cameo Dust Cover! I made two….one for me and one for a friend! I added some piping and seam binding to give it a bit more pizazz!
