Kat Scrappiness Design Team Announcement!

December 6, 2011 by Kat 5 Comments

First I want to thank everyone who applied to be on the very first Kat Scrappiness design team.  I was absolutely blown away by the number of ladies who applied and all of your talents.  I would be honored to have each and every one of you on my team but unfortunately as you know, I can only choose a few this time around.  Since this is the very first design team for Kat Scrappiness I made the very difficult decision to choose only 5 design team members but I hope to add to that number the next time around!    I sincerely hope that those of you who were not chosen this time will not be discouraged and that you will apply again when we have the next design team call.

Now, onto the announcement of our new design team members….(Drum roll please)…

In no particular order, our new design team members are as follows:

Melissa Pettite
– I’m a wife and mother to five kids.I have been crafting since I was 8 yrs.old. Cross stitch was very first crafty thing I learned. My mother participated in craft shows and I was always amazed at the wonderful things she would create. She inspired the inner crafter in me. My latest obsession is scrapbooking and card making.  I’m always learning and growing!

Cara Booher –
I am lucky to have two wonderful (& mostly self-sufficient) children, a supportive husband who ignores how many packages come to the house in my name (usually) and a full-time job that helps support my crafty habits.

I have a somewhat stressful job and my happy place is my craft room. I sneak away whenever possible to create…or organize my supplies. (I love to organize.) I have been crafting for several years, mainly doing layouts and cards. This year I have branched out to mini-albums, charms, tags and lots of other crafty fun. I know a lot of crafters can define their style but mine is always changing because I love to try new things.

JoAnn Valderama –
Hi there! I’m JoAnn aka Jo to my husband, close friends and the blog world! I’m married to my high school sweetheart and we have 2 energetic, wild, and crazy kids – Jonah (4 1/2) and Malia (2 1/2). I’ve been a pediatric nurse for 11 years and work full time night shifts – even though I consider myself a morning person! I’m full of ironies! *lol*

When I’m not managing the household, working, or sleeping for work, I’m dreaming about crafting! I love all areas of papercrafting – I’ve been scrapbooking for about 14 years, card making and rubber stamping for about 3 years, and digital scrapping for about 4 years. I love all aspects equally, but I do favor cardmaking the most just because it’s easy for me to create a card with the precious little time I have and still feel so accomplished! Sometimes scrapbook layouts can take me almost an hour! I’m your typical, perfectionist Virgo!

I’m super excited to be working with the amazing and talented Kat & wonderful design team and can’t wait to share what I create using some Kat Scrappiness goodies! For more about me and my crazy world, check out my blog, JoBoogie Stamping.

Nicole Jones – Hi there! My name is Nikki, and I am a craftaholic. I’ve been making things since I was little, stapling together books made of construction and notebook paper and creating treasure maps out of paper bags. My aunt first introduced me to scrapbooking when I was in high school, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Along the way I’ve also developed a love for knitting, painting, altering objects, and most recently creating mini albums.

I only recently discovered the amazing online community of crafters, and it has been such a joy connecting with people who share my passion! I’ve been so inspired, and I’m learning so many new techniques to incorporate into my work. In addition to crafting, I’m an avid reader and am severely addicted to fantasy novels.

My wonderful hubby got me into playing video games, which has been a great way for us to spend time together. We have been living in Tennessee for several years now and love it. No kids just yet, but we do have 4 cats who we love dearly. I’m looking forward to continuing to explore new creative outlets and meeting more talented crafty people!

Rachel Garduno

My Name is Rachel and this is a little about me. My love for crafts came from a really early age. My first childhood memories that I could remember are day’s spent coloring with my big box of crayons. Every color in my box was so beautiful and could take me anywhere in my imagination.

As I grew up I kind of lost that since of adventure in creating. It wasn’t until two years ago when I was going though some hard things in my life. That my perspective changed I decided that I would create beautiful works of art, from altered books and scrapbook pages. I love to be inspired from everything and everyone. I only hope to be a inspiration to you.

Love Rachel
