Vertical 12 x 12 Paper Storage Solutions
Looking for a way to store your 12×12 cardstock or patterned paper? On this page you will find Vertical paper storage solutions. If you are looking for horizontal paper storage solutions, check out my first post in this series, Horizontal 12×12 Paper Storage Solutions.
Idea #1
The most popular vertical paper storage solution has to be Cropper Hopper Paper Holders (now referred to as Advantus Paper Holders). They measure 12.5″X13″X2.625″ and each one holds approximately 200 sheets of paper! Here is a photo of a Paper Holder full of cardstock/patterned paper.
You can also purchase Tabbed Dividers with Labels which fit inside of the Paper Holders, which allow you to organize your papers by color, pattern, theme or manufacturer. Cropper Hopper/Advantus has a whole system of products that will help you organize and store your 12 x 12 papers such as the Vertical Variety Pack for Craft Paper Organization.
Here are some photos of how other crafters have used these products in their scraprooms. (From google images and/or pinterest)
Idea #2
Advantus/Cropper Hopper also has another Paper Holder made of hard plastic and it’s called the Easy Access Paper Holder. This paper holder can hold up to 600 sheets of paper/cardstock and measures 14.4 x 1.2 x 14.4 inches. You can use this with the other Advantus/Cropper Hopper vertical components in Idea #1 or alone. The average price for this product is $11.43 with free shipping Here at Amazon.
Idea #3
Speaking of Cropper Hopper, they also make a hanging file system (which I also use).
Advantus Heavy Duty File Shuttle Cart
This cart is made of steel, measures 20 x 17.4 x 14.4 and can hold up to 100 pounds of paper! The average price is around $40.00 with free shipping at the link above.
These are the 12×12 Hanging File Folders that go in the Shuttle Cart. They come in a 6-pack and measure 13×14. The average price is $11.35 with free shipping for the 6-pack at this link.

Michael’s craft store also sells hanging file cubes that will hold your 12×12 paper. I have one for my Bazzill Card Shoppe cardstock but it is not my favorite *(which is why I only have one). It is difficult to open and close and is not made very sturdy. It only holds up to 15 pounds of paper (and that’s pushing it!). The average price is $44.99 but you can use a 40% off coupon to purchase it.
This cube uses special hanging files that can only be purchased at Michaels. I was unable to find them online but you can find them in your local Michael’s stores.
Idea #5
As shown in my previous post “Horizontal 12×12 Paper Storage Solutions“, Stamp n Storage has the following product available which can be used horizontally or vertically.
If you have an Ikea Kallax or Expedit, you can purchase this paper holder from Stamp n Storage which will fit right into the cubbies. They are quite costly at $76.75 each but they are made of wood so they will last forever! This can be turned on its’ side to store paper horizontally as well!
Idea #6
The IRIS Scrapbook File Box is good solution if you are an “on-the-go” scrapper. It measures 18.7 X 8.9 X 16.4 inches and although I’m unable to find how much paper it can hold, I have one of these and it does hold a lot of paper.
It comes with 12×12 hanging files (clear) and you can purchase more if you’d like. You don’t have to use them but they are there just in case you like them. The average price for this file box is $18.49 with free shipping at this link. You can purchase the hanging files here.
Idea #7
Darice also makes a Vertical Paper Holder that holds 12×12 paper. It measures 13.5 x 13.25 x 3.5 inches and comes in white. The average price is $11.87 with free shipping at this link.
Do you know of a horizontal paper storage solution for 12×12 paper that is not listed here? Let me know by leaving comment and your idea can be published here on this blog!

I have wooden cubes that I want to screw together to create a holder for my cricut etc. and reclaim my desk amoire. The width/height of each cube inside is 13.75 inches. My plastic bins (sorted w/labels) holding my scrapbooking paper is 14.5×14.5×2″. I have 27 of them. Do you have any solutions to this issue. I am trying to use what is in my house, but I know I still need to buy stuff. Help!
Kat says
Well since your bins are bigger than the cubes, they won’t work together. Do you want me to try to find something that will hold your bins? How much room do you have?
