If you are interested in how I store my sequins, click here for a detailed blog post and photos. Unfortunately, the container I use was discontinued by the manufacturer and so I’ve had to find an alternative solution for my newest sequins. I was surfing around on the internet one night and ran across this:
It is a plastic storage box system that holds 24 smaller little boxes in side. Each box locks so the contents inside won’t spill. The best part about this little container is that it is only $4.99 at Harbor Freight.
Here is a photo of the smaller boxes contained inside:
Because this little container locks and because of the price, I decided to give it a try and ordered a couple of them online. (link) (One for me and one for one of my wonderful readers/viewers). After having used them for a little while, I am extremely happy with the size and the security of the little boxes, so I thought I’d share them with you. They make the perfect storage solution for any small embellishments like sequins, buttons, smaller wood veneer, etc.
I used my label maker to label the little boxes.
The little boxes fit all neat and tidy inside of the larger box and here it is all full and ready to use.

Looks like a great way to store sequins and other small items. Mine are still in the bags they came in.

That little storage box is perfect for sequins and small embellishments!! I have to get one for my sequins, so I can organize them. Thanks for the link!!

Great idea Kat! I store all my embossing powders upside down in a shallow container so that I can easily see the color.

I prefer to store matching dies with their coordinating stamps together in DVD cases. These cases store neatly on my bookshelves. I’m in the process of finding a way to store my growing collection of sequins and this container looks very promising! Thank you for the chance to win one.

What a cute little container! One of my storage tips is that I took my CTMH stamp sets and took them out of their 6×6 envelopes and put them into a 12 x 12 albumr with 4-pocket page protectors from Tiffany Spaulding. I have about 144 sets fit into 2 albums. It takes up a lot less room & is easier to see what I have. Now I’m going to take the CTMH envelopes and make holders for my different dies.

My scrap room is total chaos!! It was my dad’s bedroom, then a store all junk room, now, working on creating a workspace for me. Any organizational hints are key for me!

I love shopping in unusual places for craft room storage. Harbor Freight is great and I also check thrift stores. Some of my embellishments are in spice bottles, my embossing folders and dies are in wooden monthly letter boxes.

Great idea – I have now got more sequins and am also looking into storage options that would be better than keeping them in the bags they come in! Thanks!

Ps….my favorite organization is magnet sheets for all my dies by theme. It makes it so much easier to find that perfect die:))

What a great find! I’ve just started buying sequins and have already outgrown the storage that you mentioned was discontinued. My storage tip is Ikea Alex drawers for storing all sort of things.

I Seem to spend forever looking for the right containers for all my little sparkles, my little precious things. These are the times I hate that I live in Australia, we dont have the same stores and postage would be prohibitive. I love what you have done and could use two full of those little boxes, so clever. Nothing like this over here boo hoo

They are so cute. So nice of you to buy an extra. I love my Recollection cubes for storage. I loved that the paper cubes could be changed from horizontal to vertical – so much easier to look through your paper.

Condensed yet easily accessible storage is imperative for me right now. Living in a one bedroom with my daughter, her boyfriend, her two kids, my dog and cat and 3 rescue raccoons means we have to utilize space wisely. I am finding interesting ways to store my card-making tools.
That storage container would be awesome for when I get some sequins and brads and other doodads!
Kat says
wow! that’s a lot of beings in a one bedroom! Bless you!

Hi Kat! I have bought so many storage systems for my charms and can’t seem to find the right one. Do you think this is big enough to hold a few like ones in each box? (Beach theme, baby theme, etc.)
Kat says
I don’t know how big your charms are? I can measure the little box if you want, I think it’s about 2″ in diameter though
Myrna says
Great idea, Kat! Thanks. For storing brads or tiny embellishments I use the Darice divided plastic boxes that
you can find at Michael’s in beads dept. They are 5 3/4″ by 3 5/8″ and each has 10 sections. They close securely and stack.
I label them in the short side. Price is around $2 each.

Sequins are one (and I emphasize ONE!) of my latest obsessions. Thanks for sharing your storage methods and for the chance to win!

Great storage container. I am going to be by a Harbor Freight store tomorrow and will check them out. My best storage is to store your products by color. This makes it easier for me to find what I want.

Love that little storage box One of my fav storage ideas is using a medium thread rack by June Tailor to store washi tape. Wish I could add a pic to show you 🙂

Due to finances, I use any type of containers I can find at yards ales and second hand shops. This is a really cool box of containers!

As you know, I am looking for storage options for everything right now, lol. These do look great for sequins that I’m waiting on, buttons I have left a as well as brads. I love all your storage ideas, I am adopting just about all the ones on your blog right now, I think my favorite right now is how I have my smaller stamps in hanging files that are numbered in a small repurposed cd box. Thanks for the link and chance to win.
