Man, I’m so frustrated! I’ve been shopping for weeks at the thrift stores and Builders Bargain for shelving standards and brackets to try to build pantry shelves and some shelves in my scrap room / son’s homeschooling room. Well I finally collected enough and I had to wash them, prime them,, paint them (3 coats!) and then put another coat of a high gloss finish on them (to keep the paint from scratching off). They were all different colors – mismatched stuff, etc. Well not only did the paint peel off anyway, but all my hard work (and money) went to waste because for some reason, NONE of the brackets will work in the standards! Apparently they are not universal! DUH Kat!
These things are so expensive in the stores, I have stuff everywhere and no shelves. Oh, and did I mention that the shelves I bought were too long? LOL I could cut them but I’m no expert at cutting. My mom’s husband loaned me his saw but I can’t seem to cut a straight line! hehe I need one of those saw table thingies! It looks so easy on tv!
So, now I’m back to square one. I guess I can donate it all back but the money spent was wasted 🙁 I’m so bummed!
On top of this, when my family helped me install my countertops (which wrap around a corner and cover two of three walls in the room), we installed it at a weird height and now I can’t find any storage options for below the countertop! I think maybe this is not my forte!
So do I try to take apart the countertops and raise them or do I leave them and try to come up with some solution for storage that will fit? I need a handyman that works free!
What do you think? Any tips or suggestions? (other than I should have done it differently LOL)
HELP Please!
