Hi everyone! Some things have happened since my last post. I almost got a house and I had my craft room almost all the way packed up and then the deal fell through. (which was a blessing in disguise). So now I have to unpack my craft room again before I can start updating my storage and organization methods for you guys in blog and photo format. The problem is that I haven’t had or made the time. (BUT I WILL) I actually have today off and could be doing it but instead I find myself laying in bed typing this post and cuddling with Ava lol. How can I say no to this face?
Anyway! My favorite products change more than once a year as new products come out so I have decided to change up my annual “Kat’s Favorite Crafty Things” posts to an ongoing and always updated list. I use products for awhile before I add them because I want to make sure that I like them after having used them for weeks or months before recommending them to you.
I get so many questions on what my favorite “____” is and sometimes it changes since the last “favorites” post so I think this will be a much more accurate and up to date way to keep you informed on my favorite crafty things! I hope you agree.
I will be working on this on an ongoing basis but the entire series of posts WILL be completed no later than the end of the year. I will start on it this weekend I think so you may see a page at a time but it will all be linked together and linked in my menu so it’s easy to find. I really hope you guys like this idea and that it helps you when deciding which crafty products to try. I also hope it saves you money so you don’t buy products that aren’t so great.
Something else I wanted to share with you guys is that the Kat Scrappiness store has changed and will continue to change. By change, I mean that this year I started to create and manufacture more and more of my own branded products.
I started with dies, stamps, sequins, custom sequin mixes, clay sprinkles and custom sprinkle mixes. But now I’ve added things like acetate sheets (cut to size, both A2 and Slimline), Die Snips and very soon you will see more of my own products such as an awesome (and beautiful) Pick Up Tool, Sequin Storage Solution and Slimline sized PATTERNED PAPER! While doing all of this I am continuing to come out with more stamps and a LOT of dies and embellishments. It takes so much time to get these things made and made right but I am so excited to be growing my own brand and bringing you products that I think you will love and all at the lowest price possible.
You may have noticed that my products are priced below most other stores. I make less profit than some of the bigger, well known brands, but I also feel like I can reach more crafters, and perhaps help those on a budget a little more by taking less for myself. I love what I do and I just want to spread the crafty happiness to as many people as possible!
If you are interested in what products I have available now in my brand, you can see them here. To see the other products I carry, just visit the main site at www.KatScrappiness.com.
WHOLESALE NEWS!
Another exciting piece of news is that we have a few wholesale customers now with brick & mortar stores that carry our products. If you have a store and are interested in carrying the Kat Scrappiness brand products, you can always apply to sell our products by clicking on the “wholesale” button on our website. 🙂 If you have a local crafting store (or favorite online store) and think they might be interested in carrying our products, please direct them here: WHOLESALE APPLICATION.
Make sure and email us at cs@KatScrappiness.com and let us know who you referred and ask them to tell us who referred them and if they sign up and make a purchase, you will receive a $50.00 gift card to our store!
Well that’s about it for updates for now. As you can imagine the store keeps me pretty busy but I really do plan to find and make time to bring you the features and posts I’ve promised to on this, my personal blog. It is important to me that I keep a direct connection with crafters both new and ones I’ve known for years. I will never forget how I started in this hobby and the friends I’ve made over the years. After all this all started back in 1991 because I wanted a single parent’s baby book and couldn’t find one so I decided to start scrapbooking and make my own!
GIVEAWAY!
I’d love to hear how you got into crafting. Leave a comment and let me know and I’ll choose one person to receive a $15 gift card to the Kat Scrappiness store!
I’ll post the winner right here on this blog post (at the top) on August 30th, 2020 around noon PST)!
Happy Crafting!

Congrats Kat… I feel like I’ve been with you through all the changes, my first purchase was in 2015!!! I love how the business has grown, and the fact that my craft supplies are growing right along as well.
I got into card making when my daughter was pregnant with my now 6 year old grandson.

I started crafting in 1989…I had a very stressful job and needed an outlet so I started painting ceramics. By the end of 1992, 8 was making soft dolls and by 1997, I was stamping. I have been creating all my life but in 1989 as an adult, I needed a creative outlet!

Ohhhh! I want to give Ava some snuggles too!
Crafting has always been a part of my life in some way, shape, or form. Scrapbooking though, has a definite start way back in September 1998. I wanted to make a first anniversary gift for my boyfriend. I came across the scrapbook section in WalMart and fell in love. I think the boyfriend liked the album too because now he’s my husband!

I made a new baby card for a friend, which got me into reading blogs and watching videos, which got me into buying all the things! And now I’m hooked…

Hi! I’ve always been a crafty sort but I happened by a garage sale one afternoon (20+ years ago!) and the lady was selling card kits. She had put everything in it and all you did was assemble. I bought 4 and as I was paying she asked if I’d like to take one of her classes (clever marketing tip!).
I was hooked from the start and have been doing ever since!

I had photos from our WDW and wanted to preserve them somehow. Now, I love making cards by stamping. Thanks for the chance!

Back in the early 80’s (yes that long ago) my sister had a rubber stamp party. Turns out I knew the woman’s husband. She demo’s and we dropped a bunch of money on Marvy markers and mostly Hero Arts stamps. When I moved to No CA, I started going to Rubberama. The rest is history and probably a million dollars lately LOL.

Thanks for sharing what has been going on. I have always been crafty but started stamping after being invited to a Stampin’ Up party.

I started crafting many years ago when the first Creative Memories parties started. I made several scrap books then got into inks and stamping. I have just started using the die cuts and love them. For Christmas presents I made all four of my grown children a scrapbook of their life. They loved it! the next year I made the 10 grandchildren one and last year most of the 14 great grandchildren. This year I will be adding 2 more great grandchildren and look forward to making them their first book.

25 years ago I saw a Creative Memories booth at a street fair. My first child was 1 and I was wanting to do something with our photos. I went to a Creative Memories party and the rest is history.

My bff who has since passed away introduced me to stamping. I bought one stamp which I kept at her house. With time my one stamp became an obsession and here I am!

I can’t remember what got me into crafting. I’ve been making stuff since I was a kid, when I made construction paper collages and greeting cards, and I’ve been a garment maker since age 13, which may have helped me develop a knack for paper engineering. I also started pen palling at 13 and have used rubber stamps to illustrate letters forever. I’m also a quilter and I have worked in the quilting industry forever, so when I needed a break “from work”, I started going to a rubber stamp club that met in an art store around 25 years ago and I was still getting together monthly with those ladies til 2020 happened!
