New Scrapbooking Tools – Winter 2012 CHA

March 11, 2012 by Kat 5 Comments

Today I want to take a look at some of the newest scrapbooking tools that I noticed around the time of Winter 2012 CHA.  Yesterday I posted about Imaginisce’s I-Top Brad Maker because I felt like it deserved its own post (because it’s such a fun, awesome tool!) but today we are going to take a look at several new scrapbooking tools!

Let’s start with another Imaginisce product called the iMagicut Ribbon Cutter
.

I recently got an opportunity to test this handy little tool out and I really thought it was cool.  It cuts and SEALS your ribbon so you don’t’ have to worry about the ends fraying anymore! No more using a lighter to try to seal the edges.  It retails for around $19.95 online.

Prima Ingvild Bolme Self Healing Cutting Mat

This is my next cutting mat!  I like the fact that it is 26 x 19 which is wide enough to work on a two page 12 x 12 scrapbook layout at one time.  My present cutting mat is only wide enough for one 12×12 page at a time.  The Prima Cutting Mat retails for around $29.99 which is approximately half the price of the Martha Stewart cutting mat that I previously had my eye on!  Plus, I LOVE the color of the Prima cutting mat!

Tim Holtz Distress Markers

Tim Holtz Distress Markers come in 37 colors and have dual tips with a flexible brush nib on one end for great coloring effects, and a plastic detailed nib on the other for journaling or fine detail work. These markers are reactive with water which allows for greater blending and shading.  You can also color directly onto your stamps and stamp with them!  The average price for the set runs around $115.00 which still makes them less expensive than copics!

Cropper Hopper Sticker Clipper

About this new organizational tool from Cropper Hopper:

  • Includes 15 clips to organize stickers, rub ons, die cuts and more
  • Sturdy metal Z-style frame is ideal for desktop retrieval
  • Measures approximately 14.5″H x 7″W x 9.5″D

It retails for approximately $12.99 online.

The Sew Stamper by We R Memory Keepers

If you want the “sewn” look without actually having to sew, the Sew Stamper from We R Memory Keepers is the solution.  It is a -inking rubber rolling stamp and each stitch head  will make over 1,000 impressions.

Some of the stitch heads available include:

Doodle Stamper – Circle

Sew Stamper - Burst Stitch

Sew Stamper – Burst Stitch

Doodle Stamper – XOXO

American Crafts  Knock Outs Border Punch system –  Border Starter Kit

The Knock Outs Border Punches offer a variety of different border punch designs with an interchangeable system.  This interchangeable system allows you to simply choose a border punch design, lock it into place, punch and then replace with another design. This eliminates the need to store many different punches.  This is a huge space saving tool!

The starter kit retails for around $10.99 and comes with one punch design.  You can purchase a value kit with six punch designs for $49.99 or you can choose to purchase each one separately for around $9.99 each.  Still about half the cost of a regular border punch and no storage space needed!

Let’s take a look at the value kit and then some of the available border punch designs available for purchase:

WOW! Thanks for the extensive review! I’m intrigued by the TH markers. I had heard of them but did not realize they were comparable to Copics. Hmmmm…I may have to check them out! TFS!

I think the ribbon cutter and the sticker clipper caught my eye. I wonder if the sticker clipper will fit in a rolling tote (to take to a crop, etc.)? Very informative post – thanks!!

Awesome reviews! I have seen the ribbon tool and almost bought it but I think my money’s going on that sew stamper thing! I have some stamps that have those designs but seems like that sew stamper might make life that much easier. Thank you for the reviews!!
