A Look at My First Scrapbooking Kit (from Cocoa Daisy)

April 14, 2013 by Kat 3 Comments

I’ve been wanting to try out a scrapbooking kit for ages but I’m not one for long commitments (probably why I’m still single LOL) and I usually want to pick out what I’m getting for my money, which is why I’ve never signed up for one before now.  However, I’ve been in a creative “slump” lately and needed something to get my creative juices flowing again so I stepped outside my comfort zone and ordered a kit. I did NOT sign up for the monthly subscription though.  I just bought the April kit from Cocoa Daisy to see how I like it.

The following is a brief overview of what I bought:

I also purchased the patterned paper add on which looks like this:

If you’d like to see the kit in more detail, there is a video at the bottom of this post which shows the contents in detail.

Overall, I’m happy with what I purchased, I love the colors and with the exception of the (yucky) butterflies (lol), I love everything included with the kit.  However, I will say that there are not enough embellishments and I don’t think it’s worth the amount that I paid.  I am going to keep trying out different kits from different companies each month (or when I finish the current one) just to see which ones I think are worth the money.  (If any).  I think my next kit will be May’s kit from Gossamer Blue because I love the sneak peek!

I created my first layout using this kit earlier this morning and I filmed a short process video so if you’d like to see the video and the layout I created (very simple layout since it’s my first one in awhile!), check out my YouTube channel or check back here tomorrow.  I will try to post it here once it completes the uploading process.  (IF it ever completes the uploading process that is! LOL)

Thanks for stopping by!  If you subscribe to a monthly kit, please leave me a comment and let me know which company you subscribe to and whether or not you’d recommend it.  I want to try them all out sooner or later!  Have a great week!

Here is the Cocoa Daisy Kit in detail:

I am a little biased, but I do love Cocoa Daisy kits very much. The May kits were just snuck and if you have two older boys, this will be the perfect kit for you, not a butterfly in sight! 😉 Thanks for the review, hope you enjoy creating with the April kit!
