My Favorite Scrapbooking Products – STAMPING

November 1, 2014 by Kat 1 Comment

Stamping:

Stamps:

My favorite stamps are photo polymer (clear) stamps.  There are two different kinds of clear stamps, polymer stamps are high quality and cost more than acrylic stamps which are less “sticky” and don’t stamp quite as well but are less expensive.  I am not a huge fan of rubber stamps, I much prefer clear.  With that being said, I don’t really have a specific preference of companies, so long as the stamps are polymer.  The one company I do NOT like is PaperTrey Ink.  I have several sets that I bought a few year ago and they have turned yellow and gotten “sticky” and gross since then, even though I’ve washed them in warm, soapy water and store them just like I store all of my other brands of stamps.  Just a word of caution 🙂  Some of the stamp companies I buy from frequently include:

  • Lawn Fawn
  • My Favorite Things
  • Paper Smooches
  • Wplus9
  • Hero Arts
  • Avery Elle
  • Technique Tuesday

Stamping Tools:

Stamp Cleaner:

For cleaning my stamps, I use a baby wipe, however if it doesn’t get it clean, I use Ranger Inkssentials Rub-It Scrub-It Rubber Stamp Cleaning Pad, 6-Inch Square  It’s inexpensive, easy to clean and it works better than any of the expensive stamp scrubbers I’ve bought in the past, including Stampin’ Up’s scrubber!

Stampin Mist

Again, I use baby wipes but when they don’t get my stamp completely clean, I use Stampin’ Up’s Stampin’ Mist.  It smells wonderful and always cleans and conditions my stamps.

Stazon CleanerWhen I stamp with Stazon Inks, I use Stampin’ Up’s Stazon Cleaner

 Stamping Tools:

Inkadinkadoo Stamping Surface – To get the best stamped impression, I always try to remember to use my stamp mat/pad.  It helps me get a perfect impression every time!  I don’t know if this is available any longer but you can get a similar product from Sizzix here.

Stamp-a-ma-jigStamp Placement – I don’t need this often because I mostly stamp with clear stamps but when I use my cling rubber stamps, I use my EK Success Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to make sure I stamp exactly where I need to.

When I emboss, I always use my EK Success Powder Tool to make sure my embossing powder doesn’t stick where I don’t want it to.

Fiskars Compact Stamp PressAcrylic Blocks – Most of the time I use my Fiskars 3×5 Inch Compact Stamp Press
.   I tried the smaller one by Martha Stewart with the foam feet but didn’t like it because the foam feet kept getting ink on them and transferring it to my projects.  That was a bummer.

Apple Pie Memories Stamping Blocks

I also have Apple Pie Memories Stamp Blocks and use those frequently.  They are another favorite of mine.

Stampin' Up Heat ToolHeat & Embossing Tool – I use the Stampin’ Up Heat Tool for embossing and drying my projects.  However, I’ve ordered the Milwaukee Heat Tool and am waiting for it to arrive!

Inks:

I have several favorite inks but these are my top faves!

Versafine Onyx Black Ink PadBlack – Versafine Onyx Black – This is hands down, the best ink I’ve ever used.  It stamps a crisp, clean image every time.  I just wish it came in more colors!

katbreak

Hero Arts Pigment Ink Pad UNICORN White White – Hero Arts Pigment Ink in Unicorn White – An awesome white ink.  Stamps crisp, solid and clean, not milky like other white inks can be sometimes.

katbreak

Brilliance Archival Pigment Ink Pad in Galaxy GoldGold – Brilliance Archival Pigment Ink Pad in Galaxy Gold is my favorite gold ink.  It stamps beautifully and I use it a LOT in both card making and scrapbooking.

Avery Elle Piment Ink PadsEveryday Stamping for Cardmaking and Scrapbooking:  Avery Elle Pigment Inks – These are by far my favorite inks.  The colors are beautiful (it currently comes in 23 delicious colors) and I have them all.  Because they are pigment inks, they stamp clean and solid every time AND you can emboss with them!

katbreak

Memento Luxe Pigment Ink PadsMemento Luxe Inks – I like these almost as much as the Avery Elle Inks!  The only difference is that these are “juicier” and require a bit more time to dry.  They come in 24 different colors and, yes, I have them all!

katbreak

Ranger Archival InkFor Watercoloring and Colored Pencils I use Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black – (I have the other colors on my wishlist) because this is one of my favorite inks.  It stamps beautifully and the only downside is that it stains your stamps but I don’t really care about that so they are one of my faves!

That does it for my favorite inks.  There are many other types and brands of inks.  To learn more about the difference between dye and pigment inks, etc., click here for a previous post I created explaining them all.
