Kat Scrappiness Design Team Projects from Nikki!

We’re getting down to the wire… Christmas is almost here! Now that all of my shopping is done, I can relax and enjoy one of my favorite parts of the season, which is wrapping presents! I know this is quite a chore for some, but for some reason I have always enjoyed it. I even offer my services to my mom and grandma, and they are more than happy to let me take over. If only they would let me wrap my own gifts 😉 All I ask in return is to be supplied with a cup of hot chocolate, and to have the Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas album playing. It’s just not Christmas without their “Christmas Song!”

Earlier this week I got an early present, in the form of my first Design Team package from Kat Scrappiness! She has some great felt embellishments that I was able to incorporate into my last batch of Christmas cards. Take a look!

On this card I used another one of those free digital stamps I found (see my previous post), and I knew it would be perfect paired with the adorable holly leaves from Kat’s shop!

This has to be my favorite, because of this little penguin guy! Isn’t he cute? I decided he needed a place to live, so I paper pieced him a little igloo, complete with glitter. My penguin fancies himself a bit of a rock star.

Since Tennessee Christmases are seldom white, I felt the need to throw a little snow into my cardmaking. I love these snowflakes made with the glittery felt. So pretty! On the inside, I used some mittens to make it look as if they’re holding the gift card, which is really adhered with a glue dot.

And finally, another little gift card holder. I wanted something simple but fun to jazz up the presentation. I used some Christmas light felties, and added a touch of glitter.

This was my first year making Christmas cards, and it was really fun! Kat was so generous with the goodies she sent us that I have plenty left over to use in layouts after Christmas, so check back for those.

Thanks for visiting, and Happy Holidays!

Congrats on your design team! I really like your cards, especially the penguin. I really like the light bulbs. You can see the shimmer on the video and it sparkles like real lights.

Beautiful cards, I love the bird…then the felt penguin then the snowflakes and the mittens – can’t choose a favourite, but love the little hints of felt in all of them – gorgeous.
