My Favorite Stitched Dies – A Beginner’s Buying Guide

July 14, 2015 by Kat 4 Comments

STITCHED-DIES

There has been some talk in the Stamping Enablers Facebook Group about which stitched dies we use the most and what our favorites are, so I thought I’d share mine.  I went to the “pierced and stitched” category in my die storage and am going to share with you my most used and favorite dies.  Dies can be expensive and so it’s really helpful in my opinion to know which ones others’ find useful so that you can make your own informed purchases.

Let’s start stitched dies.  Stitched dies are my favorite!  I started out with MFT’s stitched die shapes but then found Lawn Fawn and haven’t looked back!  Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Rectangles in Large and Small are most definitely my MOST USED dies in my entire collection.

Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangle DiesLawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Dies

The small rectangles retail for $27.00 but you can get them for $21.59 by clicking on the photo.  The large retails for $30.00 but just as the small, if you click on the photo you can get them for $23.00.  The reason I prefer these dies over the other brands, is because of the sizing.  The largest die in the large set is the exact same size as an A2 card front.  (5.5 x 4.25).  When you combine the two sets, you’ve got every size you need for card making!

The next two dies I use most frequently have to be My Favorite Things, Stitched Rectangle Frame and Stitched Circle Frames.  I think these just add a finishing touch to your cards and they work perfectly with any circle and rectangle dies you may already have.  I use them by layering them over a circle or rectangle die cut or background.

The stitched rectangles retail for $28.99 but you can get them for $24.65 by clicking on the photo.  The circles retail for $25.99 but by clicking on the photo above, you can get them for $21.99.

The next die I use a lot would be my My Favorite Things Stitched Circle dies.  Lawn Fawn has stitched circles as well but MFT’s are less expensive.  They range in size from .5″ To 3.875″ and feature the popular stitched edge we’ve all come to love so well!

The stitched circle dies retail for $24.99 but you can get them for $19.99 by clicking on the photo above.

These next two dies I’m going to share with you have a different kind of “stitching” detail.  They have a diagonal stitch line around the edge of the dies which I happen to really love.  I have the Die-namics Inside & Out Diagonal Stitched Rectangle STAX and the Die-namics Inside & Out Diagonal Stitched Square STAX.

The rectangles cost $30.00 and the squares $26.00.  I wasn’t able to find any discounts but you can purchase these from Ellen Hutson, and she always has fast shipping and great service.  Click on the photos for the links.

The last three dies I’m going to share with you are my newest purchases and I’m sure they are going to be favorites so I’m including them in this post.

First up, My Favorite Things Stitched Traditional Tags – This die is going to be so much fun! I love my Tim Holtz tag die but now this one has stitching!  What could be better than that?

These tags retail for $24.99 but you can get them for $19.99 by clicking on the photo.

Second and Third, Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals in Large and Small.

These are brand new dies and were just released.  The small retails for $27.00 but you can get them for $22.95 by clicking on the photo.  The large ovals retails for $30.00 but you can get them for $23.99 by clicking on the photo.
