I posted a few weeks ago about wanting to buy a sewing machine and that I was considering the Janome 11542 from Overstock.com. Since then I have had several people ask me what I thought of it because they were considering the purchase themselves so I thought I would post a short review to let you know my thoughts.
I bought the Janome 11542 from Overstock for around $60.00 and I Love It! Unfortunately the price has now gone up to $79.99 (as of today).
It was fairly easy to set up and learn. The zig zag stitch is my favorite. So far I haven’t had any trouble at all. I don’t know anything about sewing so my review is just what I have figured out by using it so far. It is quiet and runs fast. It’s easy to thread and the bobbin is easy too. It sews great on paper and material (I’ve sewn a cricut dust cover so far and several cards and scrapbook pages).
I would recommend this machine to other crafters but since I don’t know enough about sewing to know what sewers want in a machine or what it’s capable of doing, I can’t say much more than that.
If you have a specific question, feel free to contact me and I’ll try to help you. I am having a lot of fun with it, the hardest part so far is learning to sew in a straight line LOL
I hope this helps someone and I apologize for not being able to give a better, more detailed review. For what it is worth, I give it a huge thumbs up!
