CFIDS is an unwelcome visitor in my home again. I have been sick again and sleeping most of the day for the past few days but when I’m awake, I have been trying to watch tv (online of course!), or surfing the web trying to find something that will keep me awake. This fatigue is something else. I am not sure if it is the pain or fatigue or combination of both but I cannot seem to keep my brain focused on anything for very long…I can’t get through an entire episode of any tv show with the exception of a show I had never seen before now called “The Riches” on Hulu.com. Which brings me to this post….
This show that I’ve been watching is so odd, it’s about people called “travelers” who are basically con-artists. Entire families, children too, who travel around in R.V.’s running “scams” on people to take their money and then all go back to a “camp” where they live as a “family” of some sort. It’s sick and twisted and I hope it’s not real but the way life is…it probably is to some extent. I don’t want to know about these things so I’ll stick to the tv show. lol
Before you read this, make sure you know where I cam coming from.
Anyway, I decided to catch up on my favorite blogs and the next several hours were just full of “strangeness”.
There is a blog that I found one day, by accident really and after reading a few pages, I was instantly drawn to it. By the end, I was in tears, literally crying while reading this lady’s story. Her name is Angie and she and her husband are an extremely Christian couple with three daughters and pregnant with their fourth. While I normally don’t follow any blogs that I consider “extreme” ANYTHING (other than scrapbooking!), I decided to follow her blog and link to it from my own.
The reason? She amazes me. While we don’t have anything in common other than loving our children, her story just touched me in a way that I cannot forgot. She has an incredible strength, spirit and GRACE. (Something I don’t have a lot of…grace!). The fact that SHE believes what she believes strongly enough to get her through what she’s been through struck me, as well as the fact that she is also an incredible writer. There is another reason but it’s not interesting enough to write about but in the end I decided to follow her blog and see where life leads her.
Honestly, this post wasn’t going to be about her but it seems to be taking over my train of thought, here is a link to her blog. (This is my A.D.D. way of writing…I have a dozen or more posts that are half written because they lead to other posts and I don’t seem to get back to the first ones!)
ANYWAY…back to my story..the strangeness. (lol)
I go to her blog and read this odd post about a girl named “Beccah” and her baby “April Rose” and how the blog owner and some other women were (paraphrasing here) basically supporting or promoting this girl’s blog because she was supposed to be pregnant with a baby who had a terminal illness only to find out they had been mislead because the girl was lying to them all. There is more about it being Satan’s work and so on but if you know me, you know what I think about all that lol.
So being bored as heck and nothing better to do, I clicked on a link and then another and then another. I never saw the blog in question and it’s shut down now but after visiting all of these blogs I was just astomished. Not just because there was a woman scamming people in such a personal way but because the other people were so trusting (you can change that to any adjective you want to), that they just sent money to a stranger with a blog. Do they not know better than to send money to someone without checking it out first? That’s a stupid question I guess, I am just thinking via keyboard I guess.
The strangeness continued to other things I realized during this little web blog journey of mine. They have these little cliques I guess just like when women get together in any other part of the world. No offense to women but you all know it’s true! lol One of the websites I stumbled onto was a blog about this supposed scam. The strange part isn’t that someone started a blog to talk about this but to read the comments by the people involved with it. It sickened me a little, well a lot actually to see how we humans behave in certain situations. We’ve all either seen it or been a part of it before; people spot a target and they all band together against it (right or wrong). They all feel it is their duty to find, expose or bring to justice the culprit (right or wrong) and it looked to me as if during this process, they seemed to be making one another feel better about themselves. Whether that be by attacking blaming, protecting each other or solving the mystery, it is odd to watch as an observer. Some seemed to flip on a dime when a man enters the equation, some stop the gossiping/chatting whatever you want to call it and put on their “girl” face for the guy, however momentarily it may be. (That part I will never understand lol).
The comment that made me roll my eyes and once again try not to see all of one group in a negative light was this one:
“DON’T let this get out into the media. It’ll only make christians look bad!”
LMAO – Are you kidding me? That’s all I’m going to say, I think you can probably guess what I’m thinking lol
The responses to that comment were:
“No it won’t. It will make Beccah look bad!”
and
“Christians look bad??? How?! Christians CAME TOGETHER for this woman, sent money , offered support and prayers. One “Christian” scammer is going to cancel out all the Godly actions of her supporters? no.”
Again – Are you kidding me? This woman just scammed a bunch of people into believing she was pregnant with a baby who had a terminal illness and had just given birth by posting pictures of a DOLL for goodness sake. There were people who bought t-shirts, sent money, cards, etc. and all they care about is how it makes Christians look, who looks bad, who looks good? Their biggest complaint was that they had wasted their time and energy praying for this woman and her baby! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE? I mean besides the fact that prayers are NEVER wasted on anyone or anything. Prayer is all positive energy people! At least I thought it was.
Anyway after reading that I realized that there was nothing more to learn there and I headed off to twitter to see how big this April Rose thing was. I typed in the search bar “April Rose” and came to someone’s twitter page that led me to this.
WHAT IN THE HELL? Human Toys? Someone tell me this was all some sort of a weird dream!
I told you it was a strange night!
P.S. Moral of the Story: Don’t send money to strangers on the internet (duh)

Wow darlin'. That is something. People never stop do they? I can't stand how "girls" act when in a pack. There is a blog called something like "scrapsmack" or something like that. Don't quote me. Anywaay, it is a blog attacking everyone in the scrapping world. They talk about them in terrible ways, then sign their posts anonomous (sp)! they don't even havee the guts to sign the posts that they write about other people!! So I totally understand what you are talking about..
I hope you remember me, Danielle. I was one of your followers, as you are still on my blog friends list. I hope you start feeling better soon!!
