Today we are going to tackle one of the biggest issues scrapbookers have with organization and storage and that is 12×12 paper and cardstock. To see how I store mine click here.
Crafters are so creative and there are many, many ways to store paper so we will break them up into two categories, Horizontal and Vertical. Let’s start with Horizontal.
Horizontal 12 x 12 Paper Storage Solutions
Idea #1
This great tutorial came from Craft Critique and is a great, inexpensive way to store your 12 x 12 paper.
Using the plastic zip ties in each corner you can turn that into this:

These inexpensive plastic drawers can be purchased at any department store and keeps the dust off of your paper! They are stack able so you can stack them as high as you’d like!
Idea #3
You can use (used) flat rate boxes from the post office to make your own paper holders for free, and then decorate them yourself. All you need is some duct tape, flat rate boxes and some pretty paper to cover the boxes with!
Idea #4
This is how I store my 12×12 cardstock, using paper trays by Display Dynamics. You can purchase these are Scrapbook.com and they are quite often on sale. The average sale price is $59.99 for 10 trays. They are very sturdy and durable and I’ve had mine for 5+ years and have never had one break (even though I’ve moved!)
Idea #5
If you have an Ikea Kallax or Expedit, you can purchase this paper holder from Stamp n Storage which will fit right into the cubbies. They are quite costly at $76.75 each but they are made of wood so they will last forever! This can be turned on its’ side to store paper vertically as well!
Idea #6
The nice thing about these Recollections Paper Cubes from Michaels is that you can buy as many as you’d like and stack them on top of one another, I’ve seen people with entire walls full of the cubes filled with paper! They average $34.99 each but you can ALWAYS get them on sale with a 40% or 50% coupon which makes them pretty inexpensive. They are quite sturdy and should last for years and years! I believe you can buy a very similar cube at Hobby Lobby as well.
Idea #7

How do you get the pizza smell out of the boxes?
Kat says
We have a store here called cash and carry where you can buy them new. You can also ask your local pizza place if they will give you some. 🙂

Pizza boxes-OMG it’s genious! I will get my pizza as takeout and get them home as quickly as possible and remove the pizza so the smell does not sink in. And I will line the inside of the boxes before I stack them and put them together, so the inside is covered, too. I’m sharing this idea in my zero-waste facebook group, too. Thank you!
