Updates in our lives…and great news about Kat Scrappiness!

August 29, 2012 by Kat 1 Comment

First let me apologize for not updating my blog more often but I have been so busy with Kat Scrappiness that I haven’t had a chance to breathe much less scrapbook or craft!  Things are going great, much better than I could have ever hoped for and I am so grateful to all of my online friends and customers who have been supporting this new venture.  (Thank you!)

Secondly, I want to introduce you to my newest nephew, J.J. Driggers! (notice what his shirt says hehe)

My SIL brought my new nephew and my sweet little nieces Dakota and Montana and stayed with us for a few days and it was so nice to see them.  Look how much they have grown!

Here is a picture of Tyler holding his baby cousin for the first time.

Justin is still doing well, going to GED classes (sometimes) and intensive Outpatient treatment.  He has six months clean under his belt now and he had a birthday since the last time I posted.  He is 20 years old now!  He is also starting the process of weaning off of the suboxone.  We had to give him a deadline because it’s just too expensive for my family to continue.    Tyler is being fifteen and some days he’s as sweet and funny as can be and others, well let’s just say he’s not LOL  That kid is definitely making me earn my parenting badge lol  Speaking of Justin, he got a new tattoo (I hate it but he is 20 now and I can’t stop him from doing what he’s going to do..not that I ever could LOL)  Here is a picture.. it’s the cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland.

*I wince everytime I see it 🙁

Abby is happy again, seems to be doing okay being the only dog now.  She would be happier if she had a playmate but I just can’t find a dog that would be a good match for a 140 pound St. Bernard.  If you have a recommendation, please let me know 🙂

Work wise, things are going fabulously!  A few growing pains (as far as having room to store all the product in my house) but it’s fun and I’m making enough money now to put into getting more product.  I’m not making a profit yet but at least I am making enough to grow the store!  Today I got some excellent news that could be life changing for my family…I just closed a deal that will allow me to resell for hundreds of scrapbooking companies through one provider.  This is basically turning my little store into a scrapbooking superstore!  The hardest thing is trying to add all the product to the shopping cart, it takes FOREVER to do it one item at a time.  I wish I could hire someone to do that for me but that’s not feasible for me yet.  (Someday!!!!).  If you are interested, here is a link to a list of the companies that I am currently selling for:

http://www.supplies.katscrappiness.com/aboutus.sc

I know it looks like a lot but that’s only about 1/3 of the companies that I CAN sell for.  I chose the ones that I am most familiar with and whose products I stand behind.  I don’t want to sell anything I’ve never used or even heard of ya know?

The most exciting news out of the list of manufacturers is Silhouette!  I can now sell the Silhouette Cameo and accessories!

I have a price match guarantee on my site and even though it sometimes means losing a little money here and there, for the most part it’s working out great and bringing me a lot of business.  In the end, it all works out 🙂

It’s hard to believe that this all started as kind of a RAK.  I signed up for my first wholesale account so that I could get things at a discount for both myself and my friends and now it’s turned into a full time job!  God works in mysterious ways, doesn’t he?  The ironic thing is that this happened at a time when I really *Needed* a new source of income because the old source just wasn’t cutting it.  I pray that I’ll be able to do a good job for my customers and that this will someday be a permanent income source for my family.  During this process I went through some “drama” with a group of women in the two peas community and on a facebook group who were mean, spiteful and just plain nasty.  They were upset that I started my own facebook group (Scrappy Resale Room – feel free to join!)

It may take me awhile to get all of this new product added to the site but I’m working on it 14-16 hours a day so little by little it’s growing 🙂

I will try to post more often but no promises because of the growth of Kat Scrappiness, but things are sure to level out at some point giving me more time to blog:)

I am happy to hear about your son Justin, good luck to him to continue his fight.
For my RAK, I too want to sign up for a wholesale account, but have no idea how to go about it.
I wish you the very best in your store. I will have to check it out. I am jobless right now, so almost any purchases I make have all been from dollar stores or from family members that have stuff lying around for me to use.
The two peas community, I have only just gotten into scrapping and altered art and have had limited contact with anyone, but perhaps I will go to them with some reservation.
You take care, see ya ’round!
