I have had several people ask me how I make my clay flowers so I thought I’d post a quick and easy tutorial. The supplies you will need to make these flowers include:
- Molds (I bought mine from Mold Muse on Etsy)
- Clay – I am using Fimo Effect for this tutorial but you can use any kind you’d like)
- Cookie Sheet
- Tin Foil
The first thing you will want to do is turn on your oven (according to the directions on your clay). Then line your cookie sheet with tin foil.
Next, knead your clay until it’s soft. Then roll it into little balls (after making a few, you will figure out how much you need for your particular mold) and place them into the mold.
Once you have used all of your clay and made all of your flowers, place them in the oven (don’t forget to set your timer as per the directions on the clay packaging). When they are finished baking, let them cool and voila! You have your own handmade clay flower embellishments.
This is how many flowers I got out of one package of clay as shown in the pictures above.
You may notice from the very first picture on this page that the flowers I made have a shimmer to them. That is because I used special clay called Fimo Effects. They come with shimmer already in the clay. You can always add your own shimmer to them but my regular flowers without shimmer look like this.
I hope this helps someone and if you have any questions, just let me know. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
