Hi all, I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I have a few projects to share with you but first I wanted to show you a picture of the clay flowers that I make. I bought a couple of molds from mold muse on etsy and I make my own clay flower embellishments for my scrapbook layouts and cards. They are much less expensive to make yourself (and fun) than buying them pre-made. You can also color them anyway you want by using colored clay or by making them with white clay and painting them later.
If you’d like to see a video tutorial of how I make them, just leave me a comment and let me know. 🙂
Next, I have a card to share that I made for my mom’s friend’s birthday. I used patterned paper from My Mind’s Eye Lime Twist, my nestabilities, a $1.00 stamp from Michaels or Joanns (can’t remember which), and finally some cardstock from PaperTreyInk.com. Their cardstock is great for cards because it’s so heavy.
This first scrapbook page is a single page 12 x 12 layout that I made for my mom’s scrapbook. The photo is of her and her sister in 1946 standing in front of a house that I assume was theirs or their grandparents. I used the Hometown Summer Collection from Collage Press/Pink Paislee, the Hometown Summer stamp set and borders. It was a fast and fun layout to make.
Here is another layout made with the Hometown Summer Collection. (I also used a card from October Afternoon’s Miscellany Pack).
This is a double page layout I did for mom’s scrapbook. This photo is of her playing dress up. She used to love to play with Paper Dolls and she mentioned some paper dolls named “Sherry” once and I happened to find a set on Etsy so I bought the set and used them as embellishments on the pages. I can’t remember for sure but I believe the brown patterned paper is from American Crafts and the 2nd page is from Emma’s Shoppe.
On this last layout of my mom’s 4th birthday in 1949, I used October Afternoon’s 5 & Dime collection, some $1.00 stamps and some mini-tags found in the office supply section of Walmart as little price tags. The page seemed like it needed something so I pulled out my trusty cricut and the Birthday Bash cartridge and cut out a kangaroo with a balloon. I am not sure if it fits the page but it needed something and that’s what I went with. *grin*.
I’m spending the day in my scraproom (when I should be cleaning and doing laundry), so I’ll probably have more to show you this week. Thanks for stopping by!
I entered this blog post in Alex’s Made it Myself Mondays weekly linking party!
