Basic Card Sizes for Card Makers & Crafters
Hello crafty friends! If you are a beginning card maker, it helps to have a chart of the card sizes. The chart below shows the most common sizes of cards for US cardmakers. A2 (4 1/14″ x 5 1/2″) is the most common sized card made in the US. You can cut your 8.5 x 11 cardstock in half (either way) and it will make an A2 card base. A very common card size (mostly in the UK to my knowledge), is 5×7. If you are looking for 5×7 die cuts, check out UK based craft companies.
Then there are also Mini Slimline and Slimline sized cards. These sizes can vary slightly depending on the die cut you are using and the company that makes it. This chart from Kat Scrappiness shows the four most common card sizes in the US. I thought I’d share it with my new card maker friends so you can download it, print it out or just save a link to this page and come back to it whenever you need to.
If you have any questions about card sizes or have something to add, feel free to leave a comment.
Happy Crafting
