Stamping is so much fun! It is one of my favorite things to do. There are products that can make your stamping easier and with better results as well. There are also products to take care of your stamps. Let’s take a look at my favorite stamping products for 2019.
If the product(s) are available online (usually where I purchased it), I will be list and link for you. I do use affiliate links when possible (at no cost to you), but none of the products I’m listed were provided or sponsored by anyone. These are simply my personal favorite products that I use when crafting. Full Disclosure Here.
Stamping Tool
First up is a stamping tool or stamping platform. There are a few different types and brands available, but my favorite currently is the Stampin’ Up Stamparatus. All of the different kinds of stamping tools work equally well in my opinion but I chose this one because of the size and ability to work in layers.
I like the fact that the Stamparatus has two stamping plates rather then one on the other brands. The reason being is that when you are working with layered stamps, you can put one (stamp) layer on one plate and another (stamp) layer on the other and then stamp multiples without having to change or move your stamps around with each layer. If you want a Stamparatus you need to have a Stampin Up Demonstrator to order from. If you don’t have one, here is the lady I order from. (No affiliation other than I’m a long time, happy customer)
Here is a short video that gives you both an overview and tutorial on how to use the Stamparatus.
Again, if you want to purchase this tool, I highly encourage you to visit or contact Donna Penix who is the rep that I use when ordering from Stampin’ Up. (Again, no affiliation)
Acrylic Blocks
When I don’t need a stamping tool, I use acrylic blocks. These two are my favorites:
I often find that I need small and even tiny blocks at times for smaller images and sentiments. The smaller the block, the easier it is to stamp it exactly where you want it (in my opinion). I use the Art Impressions Acrylic Block Set found at Kat Scrappiness. You get (2) 1.5″ square blocks and (3) 1″ square blocks. They are perfect for me!
The other acrylic blocks I use most often are the same as previous years, they are the Apple Pie Memories Blocks. I use two sizes the most and that is 2.5″ round and 3.5″ round. Some of the features I like about these blocks are the fact that they have a grid and finger grips. The grid helps me line up my stamp straight on the block and the finger grips make it easy to hold and handle the block when stamping.
Stamp Care & Cleaning
Depending on what type of stamping I’m doing, I will use different products to clean and care for my stamps. When I’m stamping one or two items I will use a baby wipe or my Tidy Towel (stamp shammy).
I prefer the Tidy Towel over the other brands I’ve used in the past because of the quality and the color. I’ve been using my Tidy Towel for well over a year and a half now and it’s still as strong as it was when I first got it. I have in the past used the Absorber and the Stamp Shammy by Lawn Fawn and both worked well, but the Absorber didn’t last as long and both are made of light colors and the ink stains looked terrible. I KNOW this doesn’t matter when it comes to the quality of your stamping because it’s just a stain, but I prefer not to see the mess if I can help it. LOL
Baby Wipes
The Kirkland Baby Wipes are the ones I prefer (they are sturdy and don’t leave lint behind), and they are available from Costco or Amazon.
Stamp Cleaner
My favorite stamp cleaner has always been Hero Arts Ultra Clean (aka Stewart Superior Ultra Clean). I have tried almost every other cleaner on the market but I always return to my favorite Hero Arts Ultra Clean because it is simply the best in my opinion. It not only cleans your stamps but it conditions them as well, making them last longer and stamp better. It also removes most staining.
Stamp Cleaning Pad
When I’m doing a lot of stamping OR stamping with multiple colors, I will use my stamp cleaner with my Nuvo Stamp Cleaning Pad. The thing that drew me to it was the size and shape. This one is 7.25″ X 7.25″. You spray your stamp cleaner on the “scrub” side and then rub your stamp around on it, then you clean/dry your stamp off on the other side. I’ve found over the years that Nuvo products are always top notch and I’ve been very happy with my Nuvo Stamp Cleaning Pad..
Stamp Shammy Holder
This is listed in the organizational section of this series, but I will copy and list it here as well since it is how I store my Tidy Towel.
I use this salt cellar to keep my Tidy Towel clean and retain its moisture. I got the idea for this from Jennifer McGuire and it works so well it’s one of my favorite storage products now. It has a flip top so you just flip it open when you want to use the Tidy Towel and when you are finished, just flip it closed. This way it gets enough air that it doesn’t get smelly but stays moist for a few days at a time.
There is a new way to store your Stamp Shammy or Tidy Towel in this year! I’ve been using this new Lawn Fawn Starry Stamp Shammy Holder for a while and while it works well, I haven’t decided yet which I prefer, the salt cellar or the Lawn Fawn Starry Stamp Shammy Holder so I’m listing both.
Stamp Storage and Organization Products will be listed under the Organization post.
